ComfortFiles for Mac

ComfortFiles is a native macOS file manager built for people who came from Windows and never stopped missing Explorer.

It brings back the habits Finder does not have: a folder tree in the sidebar you can expand, an address bar that shows clickable breadcrumbs and accepts a typed or pasted path, Cmd-X / Cmd-V cut and paste for files, folders sorted first on every column — not only when sorting by name — tabs you can drag files between, and undo for file operations. The Windows keys work beside the Mac ones: F2, F5, Alt+Left and Alt+Right.

From the Mac, nothing is taken away: Quick Look on the spacebar, the system Trash, the photo library, and capture straight from an iPhone or iPad.

ZIP, RAR and 7z archives open like folders, without unpacking, and a ZIP can be locked with a password. Right-click tools handle the file-shaped jobs locally, with no upload and no account: merge, split, rotate and compress PDFs to a size you name; convert, rotate and strip location data from images; extract text from a screenshot, photo or scan; move or copy a selection to any folder without navigating there first.

Press Space on a folder to see where its space went, or open Storage to find the big files, stale downloads, app caches and duplicates and decide what goes. Source code previews in colour with line numbers. The interface follows your Mac's light or dark appearance, or stays on whichever you prefer.

Native AppKit, not a cross-platform shell. No telemetry, no account, and no lock-out: when a licence lapses the app keeps working and shows a reminder.
